28 th March 2007 – Robert Jones, ConnectRFID Business Development Manager for Ireland leads Workshop and Demonstration sessions at the inaugural RFID4SME show in Adare, Ireland. Intended as a one stop introduction to RFID, the show attracted over 150 representatives from Ireland’s most forward looking small to medium sized enterprises. Robert’s workshop was entitled “Beyond the Tag” and described how a successful RFID project typically looked further than basic considerations such as tag prices.
23 rd February 2007 – ConnectRFID complete the hand over of an asset management and tracking system to a leading European broadcasting enterprise. In a novel approach to asset tracking, the company used both active and passive RFID elements to ensure total security and cost effectiveness. Custom written software meant that the end solution was tailored to suit the particular needs of the end user. Managing Director Steve Tope said “One of the most important things that ConnectRFID can offer a customer is our knowledge and experience of what is available. For this installation, we were able to bring together several contrasting pieces of technology and I am delighted that it has been so successful.”
31 st January 2007 – ConnectRFID demonstrate the human side to asset tracking, by giving a demonstration of personal identification technology to delegates at logistics conference. Plain label stock with embedded UHF tags were attached to delegate badges and read by Symbol readers. An association database was then used to drive a Plasma screen display that showed the delegates name and their table number ahead of the conference dinner.
24 th January 2007 – ConnectRFID present a Case Study session as part of the RFID in Logistics event at the RFID Centre in Bracknell. The presentation focussed on the value of small scale, well targeted projects that gave both positive ROI and a practical introduction to the successful use of RFID.
9 th November 2006 – As part of the 7 th RFID Networking Forum, ConnectRFID present an extremely successful round table session entitled “Nuts and Bolts and ROI – the real life experiences of an RFID Systems Integrator”. Originally planned for a single slot in the Forum schedule, over subscription meant that a second, follow on group had to be introduced. Dr Robert Moore, Operations Manager for ConnectRFID said “As a business, we are seeing significant return on investment for our customers in a number of areas and it is good to share these experiences with others. It is also good to see the level of interest in ‘real life’ RFID.”
3 rd November 2006 - Birstall-based ConnectRFID, a leading provider of RFID solutions, has become the 400 th member of Electronics Yorkshire, an organisation set up to support and promote growth of the electronics industry in the Yorkshire and Humber region.
The organisation’s Network has gone from strength to strength in the two years since it was launched, as electronics companies from all across Yorkshire and the Humber have seen the benefit of unrivalled support, particularly on the new environmental regulations that are being imposed on the industry. Many companies have also taken advantage of the industry-specific training courses and access to the wide range of advanced technical equipment available at Electronics Yorkshire’s headquarters in Leeds.
ConnectRFID’s Operations Manager, Dr. Robert Moore said: “A successful organisation like Electronics Yorkshire can bring invaluable support to a growing company like ours. 25 th September 2006 — RFID-enabled asset management provider, Fluensee, Inc., today announced that it has added ConnectRFID, a leading RFID solutions provider in the United Kingdom, to its Value Added Reseller (VAR) partner program.
“Through the Fluensee Value Added Reseller program, our partners are able to deliver Fluensee’s RFID Asset Management solutions to their customers,” said Chris Brumett, vice president of operations for Fluensee, Inc. “We are pleased to have ConnectRFID as a partner with the RFID experience and commitment to service necessary to represent Fluensee’s products in the United Kingdom and across Europe.”
Under the agreement, ConnectRFID will have the ability to resell Fluensee’s RFID-enabled suite of asset management solutions. Fluensee will train and certify ConnectRFID to provide local implementation and support to its customers. Customers will benefit from the combination of Fluensee’s robust and scalable asset management software and ConnectRFID’s knowledge of RFID requirements and the European market.

July 24th 2006 - ConnectRFID are delighted to deliver demonstration equipment for one of the world's leading RFID training providers, RFID4U, as they host their first UK training course at Sheffield's IT Foundry. Sanjiv Dua, RFID4U C.E.O, said that ConnectRFID had been his first choice for the supply of Symbol RFID equipment. The course, he added, had been a tremendous success and he thanked ConnectRFID for their continuing support. Steve Tope, of ConnectRFID, commented that he had been impressed with the content and delivery of the RFID4U course and looked forward to developing future business between the two organisations
May 30th 2006 - ConnectRFID are proud to have hosted "RFID In Action - Live And Interactive", a one day RFID seminar, in Portlaoise, Ireland. 130 delegates from Ireland's leading organisations travelled to the venue to listen to speakers from Savi Technology, Zebra Technologies, Aeroscout, Symbol Technologies, SICK and ConnectRFID explaining RFID technology and its applications. Representatives from each of the companies featured took part in an expert panel to respond to frequently asked questions and take questions from the delegates. This was followed by a live demo of Savi's Site Manager, Smart Chain and AMS software offerings and then an open afternoon session, allowing anyone interested in finding out more to speak to ConnectRFID as well as the featured vendors. The seminar was widely hailed to be a great success and we look forward to hosting the next seminar.

A leading medical device manufacturer has engaged ConnectRFID to supply an item-level tagging and tracking solution, following the success of ConnectRFID's Proof Of Concept presentation. The system will be deployed in several phases to increase shipping accuracy as quickly as possible whilst minimising disruption to the client's working practice.

Following an extensive on-site trial, Royal Berkshire Hospital
have completed their first stage of testing of ConnectRFID's medical device asset tracking solution, and are now preparing for a larger-scale production pilot implementation. Patrick Sheehy, Equipment Library Manager, in a letter of intent, says, "Having successfully completed our initial testing and analysis of active RFID equipment in association with ConnectRFID, it is the intention of the Royal Berkshire Hospital to deploy an active RFID asset tracking solution to track medical devices around the site.".

ConnectRFID succesfully completed a Proof of
Concept for one of the worlds leading medical device manufacturers
at its European disribution centre. The primary aim of the
PoC was to deliver a final pack (closed shipping case) item
level tagging solution to erradicate potential shipping errors.Additional
but secondary aims were centered around improving the picking
process and overall pick/pack visibility. After several weeks
of in house testing ConnectRFID chose to deploy a UHF GEN2
system incorporating the latest ETSI XR480 UHF reader and high
performance area antenna from partner Symbol
Technologies and
used Gen2 UHF tags supplied by parnter X-ident. ConnectRFID
succesfully demonstrated the use of UHF item level tagging
and exceeded the requirements of the PoC as defined by the
customer.
March 7th - 22nd 2006
ConnectRFID were tasked with supplying
an active RFID trial system for the worlds biggest PC manufacturer.
The basis of the trial was to track components delivered on
metal trolleys through the supplychain from supplier to production
line. In conjunction with partner SAVI
Technology, ConnectRFID
chose to deploy SAVI's Echopoint Tags, Signpost Readers and
SAVI sitemanager software for data collection.

RFID Seminar (Kuwait) - ConnectRFID in conjunction
with Vision International (Kuwait) succesfully hosted a one
day seminar and demonstration program to leading businesses
from the region, centered around the use of UHF and Active
RFID technology. Attendees included government departments,
oil companies, banks, insurance companies, manufacturers and
logistics companies. ConnectRFID and Vision International have
subsequently been tasked with supplying proposals to a number
of organisations in the region to deploy RFID-based solutions.
February 22nd 2006
ConnectRFID have begun trials of high temperature,
encapsulated HF tags, through a steam sterilisation process
of 120ºC as part of an intended RFID deployment by a
leading medical manufacturing company. The planned end of line
process is a critical part of the companies production system
with the sterlisation process a key component. The tags are
being evaulated over a two week test period for suitability
and performance.

Frequency IDentification seminar in Kuwait City at the end
of February 2006.

ConnectRFID have entered into agreement with Royal Berkshire Hospital, to allow
the companies active RFID readers and tags to be studied in clinical trials
to research the technology's suitability for fixed asset tracking in hospitals,
with a view to deploying RFID for such purposes.The clinical trials have been
designed to test possible causes of interferance whilst both RFID and equipment
are in operational use. The initial testing is being carried out on the hosiptals
infusion pumps and syringe drivers with the report findings available in early
April. More extensive testing is planned for early Summer on additonal medical
equipment the hospital is considering being tagged.

ConnectRFID and Intermec have been involved in researching the feasibility of
item-level closed-box tracking at Intermec's UK headquarters. We are very pleased
to report that the testing has been extremely successful and we now have a Gen2
RFID portal system that will allow us to accurately identify up to 50 individually
tagged items, regardless of orientation, inside a closed carton. We would like
to thank Chris Mower and Chris Lea of Intermec for the benefit of their insight
and experience.

ConnectRFID are pleased to have been appointed to supply a Proof of Concept to
the ROI division of a global medical device manufacturer. The system will revolutionise
the company's final pack procedures and eradicate shipping errors.

ConnectRFID have been selected to design and implement an Active Tag asset tracking
solution for a major european distribution centre. The solution provides location
and user recognition details on a range of mobile computers used within the facility.

ConnectRFID have now launched their range of RFID developer kits. Kits are available
for all RFID frequencies and are completely customisable to suit the customer's
requirement.

ConnectRFID are undertaking trials of custom made encapsulated
HF tags through the harsh production process of a fabric convertors
to ensure that the high temperatures and chemical scrubs applied
to the material can be withstood by Tags in an effort to improve
production processes and stock visibility. |
